WDM enables MSOs to offer the benefits of physical networkseparation (each client’s traffic is carried over its own wavelength), an allpassive point-to-multipoint network, and easy bandwidth scalability forindividual clients. Troubleshooting WDM networkscan also be challenging, especially when a newly added wavelength isn’treceived at its expected destination, typically the result of a misconnectionsomewhere in the intended wavelength route.
