SCTE® Opens Call for Papers for TechExpo 2024

( EXTON, PA) – The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE®), a CableLabs® subsidiary, opens its call for papers today for presentation proposals for technical sessions that will be conducted during SCTE TechExpo 2024, which will take place in Atlanta, Georgia, from September 24-26, 2024. All technical abstract submissions will be reviewed by the TechExpo Program Committee, chaired by Guy McCormick, senior vice president of engineering at Cox Communications, and Ronnie Dhaliwal, vice president, technology operations at Liberty Latin America.

SCTE® International Cable-Tec Games Winners Announced

( DENVER, CO.) – Among the highlights of last week’s 40th Anniversary SCTE® Cable-Tec Expo® at the Colorado Convention Center was the International SCTE Cable-Tec Games and Dosty Hodges of Cox earned a Gold medal as the Overall Winner of the Games, proudly representing the SCTE Cactus chapter in Mesa, Arizona. Earning Silver and Bronze honors as overall winners were two Comcast competitors: Tom Hawk and Ryan Moss, both heralding from SCTE’s Mt. Rainier chapter in Washington State.

( DENVER, CO.) – Surpassing attendance by 5% from the last time the show was hosted in Denver in 2017, SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2023 was bursting at the seams in the Mile High City this week, featuring both a packed agenda and packed pavilions at the Colorado Convention Cen- ter from October 16-19. SCTE Partners with Rio Salado College to Award College Credits for Telecommunications Courses

Through a combination of courses from both RSC and SCTE, learners can earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in Broadband Telecommunications.

SCTE® Cable-Tec Expo® Celebrates Triumphant Return

Through a combination of courses from both Fort Hays and SCTE, learners can earn an Associate of General Studies degree with an emphasis on Computer Networking & Telecommunications. SCTE online courses count toward the associate degree that can be completed through FHSU Online.

SCTE® Awarded Patent to Provide Real-time Feedback on Technician Installations Using Proactive Network Maintenance

(Exton, PA)— The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE®), a CableLabs® subsidiary, has been awarded a patent for a system that provides feedback in real time using Proactive Network Maintenance (PNM) tools. The patent is titled “Systems and Methods for Remote Evaluation of Craft Skills.” Among other uses, the system can provide the means for learners to remotely evaluate their installations with the assistance of PNM tools.
