A successful cable industry requires a steady supply of highly-trained, reliable, mature candidates for employment. Due to downsizing of the military, many veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces are seeking to transition from a life in uniform to civilian employment, and may face challenges in making a successful transition. A significant obstacle facing veterans is the lack of training specific to the industry they wish to enter. There are many approaches available to address these needs. The cable industry is actively forming initiatives to address the needs of both veterans and the cable industry. Innovative approaches to training are necessary to improve the effectiveness of the training and successfully transitioning veterans into the cable industry.
