January 2025: Jessica Gibson-Dishong
Where do you currently work, what is your role, and how long have you been in the industry?
I currently work as a headend technician for Xfinity/Comcast. I have been in the industry for 11 years now.
How did you first become involved in SCTE training?
Getting ready for promotion and getting an idea of which way i wanted to take my career involved much needed overviews of trainings available and what additional expertise they would lead to, SCTE had the general overviews covered and then, once I decided on the type of work I wanted to do, they had the deeper, more granular classes needed for deeper understanding of each topic.
How has the SCTE training helped you in your job and career?
Given how much standardization has come about as a result of SCTE training and organizing, its extrememly helpful to get trainings straight from those who develop the standards.
Congratulations, Jessica!
