November 2024: Ashley Terry
Where do you currently work, what is your role, and how long have you been in the industry?
I currently work at Plateau Telecommunications in New Mexico. My position is Engineering & Design Supervisor. I have been working at this awesome company for almost 19 years, and I have been in the industry for around 26 years from previous employers.
How did you first become involved in SCTE training?
I signed up for the hands-on training at the ISE Expo and went through several of the courses to better understand some of the other technologies in the market.
How has the SCTE training helped you in your job and career?
The SCTE training has been a great way to utilize different methods for testing and training. It really helps to know what distances you can obtain from different SFPs for the design aspect. We design and put a lot of fiber in the ground and must test it to meet specific standards. The courses give great direction on how to isolate an issue and find a solution in a timely manner.
