Emerald Coast Chapter HFC and Fiber Architectures

This 3-hour training will consist of two parts. First will be an overview of the various methods of deploying, Fiber to the Home including RFOG, GPON, XGS PON and others. We will discuss the how these technologies can coexist on the same fiber and the components that are needed to accomplish this. Second, Understanding HFC Network actives and passives are crucial to providing quality services to your customers. In this training, we will compare CATV architectures and define active and passive devices such as optical nodes, RF amplifiers taps, and other passive devices. This training will also discuss DOCSIS 3.1 and how network devices play a role in their deployment.
