But now, with the emergence of 5G technology, the big question is whethercablecos will be able to harness 5G to their advantage or find themselvesfighting a rearguard action against it. In this session, we will tackle theopportunities and challenges that 5G presents for cable in an increasinglyconverged world and discuss how operators can make the most of itDeploying Gigabit Services Operators are entering a brave new world of deployingGigabit Services. Previously, this might imply FTTH, but DOCSIS 3.1 has openedup new cable based possibilities. The webinar will review key D3.1 benefits andtheir potential capacity on real HFC plants. We will show some network capacitytrends and how to manage traffic engineering in this new world. Finally, wewill investigate the implications of offering symmetric Gigabit services withDOCSIS latest advancements in Virtualization, Full Duplex and ExtendedSpectrum.Presented August, 2016, by John Ulm, Eng Fellow, BroadbandSystems, CTO – Network Solutions team, ARRISTaming the Home Networking MonsterNow that many of them have rolled out either DOCSIS 3.1 orFTTH networks in their service areas, cable operators are staking their claimin the gigabit market with the capacity to offer blazing speeds of up to 10Gbps down and at least 1 Gbps up. But as they do so, they are running into afresh set of challenges, particularly in the home WiFi environment. How canoperators manage their new gigabit services to make sure that customers get thespeeds and service they're promised? How can they improve the customer's WiFiand mobile experience? In this session, our expert panelists will discuss theearly gigabit deployment lessons from the field.Locations/ Dates and Times: December4, 2019 – 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.Shentel Rustburg Operations Office - 94 Ewing Drive,Rustburg, VA 24588 Shentel Glade Hill Operations Office - 425 Golden ViewRoad, Glade Hill, VA 24092December 5, 2019 – 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.Shentel Radford Operations Office - 7450 Lee Highway,Radford, VA 24141 Lunch will be provided at each host location.Registration Fees: SCTE Member $0.00 , Non-Members $15.00For More Information Contact: Sean Lester at 540-641-4850or sean.lester@selestsystems.comRegistration: Please indicate LocationOnline registration is available for this event.
