The Lighthouse Chapter of the SCTE will be conducting its first in person safety sessions of 2023 on Wednesday, March 22 in Bangor and Thursday, March 23 in Portland. Topics for the sessions will be Electrical Safety and Driving Safety.

For our Bangor Maine session, the presenters will be Eric Lunt from Central Maine Power and Tony Look from Charter Communications. Eric conducted line work for CMP for 20 years and has been in the public education business for 2 years training electrical safety to fire departments, police, EMS, schools, construction companies and others. Tony has been in the cable industry for 35 years training cable professionals on safety related matters for 19 of them. Tony is currently a Senior Safety Specialist at Charter.

For our Portland Maine session, the presenters will be Danielle Barry from Central Maine Power and Tony Look has graciously offered to present at both of our sessions. Danielle is in her 6th year at CMP and her prior work has over 25 years of customer service experience including time spent as a 911 dispatcher. Danielle is currently on the Public Education Team at CMP and in her own words:

“We here on the public education team teach electrical safety to First Responders, contractors, utility workers, students, and more. We tailor programs to each of those audiences. Education and preparation can impact the outcome of a utility emergency. Our training identifies the responsibilities, hazards, precautions, safety zones and the role of each agency, and how to integrate and coordinate each agency’s response effective and safely.”

the tech sessions will start at 9:00 AM. If you get there early, you will have the opportunity to network with other attendees and enjoy the free coffee & light breakfast (selection varies at the two locations). We hope you can join us at one of these sessions!
