Membership & Account Access

Q: I forgot my password. Can I recover this online?

Q: Can I activate multiple memberships at once?

A: If you have less than 10 employees joining as members, please have them follow our directions here on how to join as individual members online. Those with existing accounts can login to their account.scte.org account and click "Renew Membership" under their user profile or can call our membership services team for renewal assistance at 800-542-5040x1.

If you have 10 or more employees you would like to sign up for individual memberships, please have employees open accounts and then contact our membership services team at info@scte.org or 800-542-5040x1 for assistance.

If your company offers corporate sponsored memberships, please check online here for Corporate Alliance or CableLabs All Access information for renewal directions, or contact our membership services team at info@scte.org or 800-542-5040x1 for additional assistance.

Q: How can I check my membership status?

A: Login to your account.scte.org and click "User Profile." Select "My Membership" to view your membership type and Paid Through date.

Q: How do I renew my membership?

A: Login to your account.scte.org and click "User Profile." Select "My Membership" to view your membership type and Paid Through date. If your membership if not active, you can select the "Renew Membership" button to activate your membership online.

Q: What if my membership lapsed, and I want to keep my join date?

A: Check your membership Paid Through date online here. If the paid through date is older than the current year, contact the SCTE membership services team at 800-542-5040x1 for membership assistance.

Q: What is included with my membership type?

A: Our Professional Membership benefits feature access to the Cable Knowledge Resource Collection, SCTE Microlessons, SCTE Chapters, training and certification discounts, as well as other services here.

Executive Member benefits include all professional level benefits, as well as access to the SCTE LiveLearning Webinars for Executives.

Corporate Alliance Membership may be paid by your company through the corporate alliance program. The agreement may include individual membership coverage. To learn more about your company's coverage click on your company logo here.

Course Access & Enrollment

Q: How can I access my SCTE training course?

A: Access the SCTE training portal by logging into account.scte.org, clicking "My Courses" under our navigation menu. For additional assistance with course access download our step by step directions here.

Q: My employer has a corporate training program. How can I take advantage of this?

A: CableLabs All-In Seat holder benefits include online training. To take advantage of your online training enrollments, you just need to login to your account.scte.org account and click "My Courses" under the navigation menu. Then you can enroll in courses directly in the SCTE training portal. Watch our enrollment video here for a walkthrough of this process.

Corporate Alliance Partnerships may include training coverage. Inquire with your management team for further details.

Q: How can I purchase training on behalf of my employees?

A: View our video on how to enroll others in your organization for SCTE training courses here.

If needed, your employees can get assistance updating their organization under their profile by contacting membership services at info@scte.org or 800-542-5040x1.


Course Completion

Q: Can I check on my employees' course completions?

A: Employees can share their course progress with you under their profiles, but there is no way for them to directly share this information with you. Once they complete their course final exam, and course evaluation, learners can forward you a copy of their course completion certificate for your records.

If you are a corporate partner, you can request additional information at professionaldevelopment@scte.org.

Q: I completed my course final exam. Why is my course not marked as complete?

A: To generate a course completion certificate you must complete the final exam, and course evaluation in the SCTE training portal. Once the evaluation is complete your course, completion certificate will be available for download. For additional assistance view our support document here.

Q: I completed my course final, but my course is still listed as "In-Progress." What do I need to do to get my course completion certificate?

A: To access your course completion certificate you must complete your final course evaluation. This needs to be completed in the SCTE training portal, which you can access by clicking "My Courses" under your SCTE Account. Your course evaluation will be waiting for completion under the course navigation page. Click the course title to access this page, and there will be a link to complete the evaluation at the top of the page. Once submitted, your course completion certificate will be available for immediate download. For additional assistance view our support document here.

Q: I've completed training with SCTE. How can I get copies of my course completion certificates and transcripts?

A: Access the SCTE training portal by logging into account.scte.org, clicking "My Courses" under our navigation menu. Once in the training portal click the "Transcript" tab to download a copy of your transcript and course completions certificates. Q: I've completed training with SCTE, does this mean I am SCTE Certified?

A: No, to be SCTE Certified you must sit for an SCTE certification exam and pass with a 76% percent or higher. Take the next step and get SCTE Certified. You can purchase SCTE Certification Exams here in our certification exam catalog.


Certification

Q: How can I access my SCTE certification exam?

A: Sign into your User Profile here. Open the "Certification" tab and click on the exam link to launch your exam in the presence of your SCTE Exam Proctor.

Already signed in? Click here to access your test under the exam link in the presence of your SCTE Exam Proctor.

Q: How can I find an SCTE Exam Proctor to moderate my certification exam attempt?

A: All SCTE proctors are volunteers. You can use our proctor look up feature here to locate a proctor in your area.

If you don't have a proctor serving in your area, or would prefer to complete your certification exam on your own schedule, you can purchase remote proctorship here.

Q: How can I purchase a certification exam for my employees?

A: Certification exams must be purchased under the individual's testing candidate's account. Have the learner sign into their account.scte.org record, navigate to our certification exam catalog here and complete your purchase online following the checkout prompts. For step by step instructions reference our support document here.

Q: How can I verify my employee's certification status?

A: Search for certified Individuals online here.

Q: I am newly certified. When will I get my certification certificate?

A: After you have successfully passed your exam, your certification certificate will be mailed to the shipping address noted on file 5-6 weeks.

Q: I would like to get recertified with SCTE. How can I tell if I qualify?

A: A total of 12 Recertification Units (RUs) (21 RUs for DVEP, IPEP and BCE) are required to maintain SCTE certification without having to re-take the exam. If you have not earned the minimum RUs, you may retake the exam, incurring the cost of the testing fee and the renewal application fee. The RUs must be earned during the 3-year certification period.

Once you have an estimated recertification unit (RU) count, if you have the required RUs you can pay the application fee online here, and submit your completed application for review at professionaldevelopment@scte.org.
