This course provides a thorough background in MPEG technology and digital video encoding formats. Among the topics covered are baseband digital media theory, encoding/multiplexing, why MPEG matters, MPEG-4/AVC, artifacts, and IP-based transmission. Level: 400
Format and Schedule
Online, Self-Paced Scheduled with Virtual Instructor: This course is expected to take 12 weeks to complete online, about 2 to 4 hours per week. As an onsite boot camp, the length is 1.5 days supplemented with online content. Learners view web based course materials and complete assessments (quizzes) at a time that is convenient for them. 100% of the schedule is determined by the learner.
System Requirements: A high-speed Internet (HSI) connection, Internet browser with HTML5 support. For tablet access, HTML5 may be used to access online content modules.
Target Audience
This course is recommended for both independent cable and MSO technical personnel, including entry to mid- level video engineers, network operation center engineers, Headend technicians, division / regional support teams that will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, designing, implementing and managing video signals and equipment.
